Playing without an account
You can play and host without signing in. Your phone gets a random device id so purchases made on it stay on it, and rooms remember your seat if you drop out. Names you type in a room are shown to that room and kept only while the room is live, plus a short time after so a reconnecting phone finds its seat.
If you sign in
We keep your email address, and your name and picture if Google or Apple share them. One account works in every Empyreal game. We record which phones you signed in on and which rooms you joined while signed in (kept for a year) so your account page can show them. Each sign-in also keeps the browser or app it came from and its IP address until it expires, so you can see where you are signed in and sign out of any of them. If you choose a password, we keep only a one-way hash of it, never the password itself.
Our games count, anonymously, which ways to play are started and finished (for example "Classic, five players, finished"), with no names, accounts or devices attached, so we can tune the game.
Purchases
App Store and Google Play purchases go through Apple or Google and RevenueCat; web purchases through Stripe. We never see your card. We keep a record of what you bought and how much of it is left.
AI features
When you ask for an AI-made deck, pack or quiz round, the theme and any names you typed are sent to Google's Gemini to write it. We keep a log of the request (not your identity beyond your device or account key) for 30 days to control costs, and cache identical requests for a day.
Reports and moderation
If someone reports an answer or a pack, we keep the report for up to 90 days, room reports for 30 days.
Room statistics
We count rooms created, started and finished, and their sizes, with no names, for about 13 months.
Contact form
Messages you send us are kept for a year.
Deleting your data
Delete your account from your account page or from inside any game. That removes your account in every game, with the credits and unlocks bought while signed in, your saved decks, packs and quizzes, and pictures you uploaded.
